The concept
We step in when an idea, a POC or a notebook needs to become a reliable system: API, internal tool or client product, deployed in production and maintained without losing you in the technical details.
This site presents our work through an interactive 3D visualisation inspired by optimisation methods in artificial intelligence. The word gradient refers to the slope of a function — the direction and intensity in which values change most rapidly. In AI, it guides an algorithm step by step towards the optimal solution.

This experience reflects how we work: giving shape and clarity to complex projects, while delivering something visually memorable.
WHO ARE WE?
Gros Gradient is a micro-agency specialised in artificial intelligence, data science and software engineering, based in France.
The two founders design, architect and implement each project directly, with no subcontracting.
Joël, data scientist, is trained in applied mathematics and specialised in backend development and database architecture. He worked at Safran, one of the world leaders in aerospace propulsion, where he contributed to the development of an AI technology that is now patented.
He then joined the headquarters of AP-HP, Europe's leading university hospital centre, where he automated data flows and the daily generation of dashboards — notably for post-Covid hospital capacity monitoring and coordination during the 2024 Olympics. This background enables him to design reliable systems for handling sensitive data, structuring information and producing analyses or visualisations that business teams can act on.
With Ninoh, they finished second in an international NLP challenge organised by Orange Silicon Valley in 2023, which led to the publication of a research paper.
Ninoh, NLP and AI engineer, designs, trains, hosts and deploys open-source French-language models and the tools that use them. His expertise also covers infrastructure and cloud.
He has developed and deployed NLP models for professional platforms, from data preparation to production integration. He contributed to idealCO by integrating language processing microservices, and worked on cedille.ai, the largest open-source French-language model in 2022. This experience enables him to design LLM-based systems that are genuinely usable: intelligent search across your documents, internal assistants and analysis tools deployed locally or on sovereign EU infrastructure.
